Once you open an account with Caravan, you will be deemed to have reviewed, read and consented to the terms of this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions (which forms part of this Privacy Policy).

This website and the Platform is not intended for minors (and we do not knowingly collect data relating to minors).

It is important that you read this Privacy Policy together with any other privacy policy we may publish so that you are fully aware of how and why we are using your data. We may change this policy by updating this page. Users should check this page from time to time to ensure that they are happy with any changes. COLLECTED INFORMATION


Personal Information

Caravan may collect personal information or personal data. We may collect, use, store and/or transfer different kinds of personal data about you in accordance with the limits prescribed herein and applicable law. Personal information includes User’s first name, last name, full address, contact information, email address, GPS location and any other information or factors specific to the User and may be used to identify a specific User (“Personal Information”). Personal Information may be amended at any time through the Platform.

By agreement with member restaurants, vendors and businesses, disclosure and further processing of personal information provided to them by Caravan is strictly prohibited. Personal Information will only be used by Caravan to notify Users of their order status. Personal information will not be shared or disclosed to any third party without permission of the owner of the information, unless compelled or required to do so by applicable law. Personal Information may also be disclosed to protect Caravan’s rights in contract and in law, this may include for the purposes of defending Caravan’s intellectual property rights, for protection against fraud and malicious acts and credit risk protection.

Caravan uses various technical and management practices to help protect the confidentiality, security and integrity of data stored on our system, such as Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Please note however that this as with all technology is not 100% secure and may become subject to security breaches. Please do not send Caravan sensitive information through email. Caravan will never request sensitive or bank account information by email or text message. Email Address

Users are required to supply Caravan with their email address, or other information needed to establish online and mobile contact. The email address and other contact information provided by Users are used to confirm the order and to communicate with them in case of an order malfunction. You cannot register therefore without providing your e-mail address information. Email addresses may be edited through the main page on the Platform. Caravan communicates part of the contact information (name, surname, order delivery address and phone number) with the restaurant from which an order was placed. This information may be disclosed to Caravan staff and to third parties involved in the delivery of the order for the analysis and support of your use of the Platform and website.

Caravan will not sell or divulge personal contact information to third parties other than as specified in this Privacy Policy unless we are entitled or obliged to do so.

Non-Personal Information

Caravan may also collect information regarding Users’ past orders, favourite restaurants, customer service and Platform interactions, reviews, social networking preferences and any other information which would not reveal or identify a User’s specific identity. Caravan’s third party providers may also collect technical information regarding your IP address, computer and screen. Caravan and third party providers may also use cookies, pixel tags and similar technologies to better serve you with more tailored information and facilitate your use of the Platform. If Users do not want information collected through cookies, this may be disabled in your browser preferences.

USE OF INFORMATION

Personal Information is collected to register Users as new customers and create Caravan accounts personal to the Users, to process and deliver orders, to manage relationships with Users, to enable Users to take part in draws and prizes if any, to protect the Platform, to deliver advertisements and to use analytics to ensure better performance and customer relationships. Users may opt-out of receiving advertising material by visiting [https://www.usecaravan.com/] or disabling the function on the Platform.

Personal Information may therefore only be disclosed as follows:

  • • To third party service providers who provide technical services to and for the Platform such as website hosting, data analysis, payment and order processing and infrastructure services, IT services, customer service, e-mail delivery services, food delivery services and other similar services to enable the Platform to satisfactorily provide the services to Users.
  • • To connect Users with any person to whom they sent messages to regarding Site-related content through the Platform.
  • • To third party sponsors of Promotions as may be agreed upon with Users.
  • • To an affiliate or third party in the event of any bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, novation, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock.
  • • As Caravan believes to be appropriate and permissible (a) under applicable law (b) in order to comply with legal process; (c) to enforce its terms and conditions and protect Caravan’s operations and (d) to protect in any manner Caravan’s and Caravan’s employees, staff and/or riders rights, privacy and safety.

Caravan uses cookies to remember Users on the Platform and enhance their experience. We do not sell this information to third parties. This information is only shared with third party service providers to manage the Platform’s services.

Navigational and click data may also be collected when Users browse the Platform. This includes but is not limited to pages visited on the Platform, how many clicks on items were made and the duration that a User stays on a page. This information is only shared with Caravan staff and third party providers involved in completing and delivering Users’ orders.

User information required to complete the ordering process is shared with vendors and restaurants with whom an order has been placed. This includes order content, special order instructions, first and last name of the User, street address and telephone number with restaurants where Users' orders are placed to the extent necessary to process those orders. By using the Platform, you consent to this information being shared accordingly. Caravan may only disclose Personal Information to the extent permitted under this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Non-Personal Information posted through the Platform may be viewed by the public and is therefore not considered protected. Caravan reserves the right to share information which would not be construed as Personal Information and therefore would not specifically identify you.

We use IP addresses for purposes such as calculating site usage levels, helping diagnose server problems, and administering the site.

PAYMENT INFORMATION

Users are required to select a payment method when placing an order on the Platform. Orders may be paid for by credit card, debit card, benefit pay, Apple Pay or cPocket. For payments made through the Platform via debit/credit cards, card information is transmitted to the appropriate service provider in an encrypted format subject always to recognised rules and applications. If accepted by the User, a part of a User’s card information is kept in an encrypted format, with appropriate safeguards to protect card information.

MARKETING

Advertising companies engaged by us may use cookies to measure marketing strategy effectiveness. Information derived from this does not contain any Personal Information.

Personal Information is not sold for marketing purposes without consent. Preferences regarding marketing methods and communications may be customised on the relevant page on the Platform.

AMENDMENT OF PRIVACY POLICY

These Terms may be modified, amended, revised or varied at any time by Caravan. Users shall be subject to this Privacy Policy and any amendments thereto at all times once they become Users of the Platform. If you do not agree with any of the terms herein (as may be amended from time to time), immediately stop using the Platform and delete your Caravan Account. All rights and obligations of Users in relation to Caravan’s Intellectual Property shall survive any termination or deletion of User accounts on the Platform, whether such termination or deletion is voluntary or involuntary by the User.

SEVERABILITY

If any clause, term or condition stated herein or forming part thereof is found by any court or administrative body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal, all other terms and conditions shall remain valid and in full force and effect.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Any dispute arising in connection with it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bahrain.
